SAIC Maxus sends cars to SCO
SAIC Maxus, a subsidiary of SAIC Motor, donated on Friday G10 Plus MPVs and D90 SUVs to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as its secretariat's official vehicles. The company's products have been sold to 45 countries and regions and developed countries have become the main destinations for its overseas sales. In the first three quarters, its total overseas sales reached 10,922, an increase of 101 percent compared with the same period last year.
Chinese models popular at Qatar
Chinese cars have attracted wide attention at the Qatar International Motor Show, which was held from Wednesday to Sunday and showcased 165 models of top international car brands. Ali Najm Al-deen, the operation director of Taleb Motors, the authorized general distributor of four Chinese car brands in Qatar, said: "During the past few years, Chinese vehicles received unexpected high demand in the Qatari market (where) they are currently competing with German, Japanese and Korean cars."
Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV
Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Services launched the long-wheelbase GLC SUV on Wednesday in Chengdu, Sichuan province. With its wheelbase extended by 100 mm to 2,973 mm and up to 600 small changes, the SUV is designed to better meet the demands of Chinese customers for more legroom and other features. The model sports a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and a nine-speed gearbox, producing a maximum output of 180 kW and a top torque of 370 Nm. Available in four variants, it is priced between 429,800 yuan ($621,09) and 576,000 yuan. The model is the first long-wheelbase GLC and the fourth long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
