All-new Touareg

Volkswagen Import launched the all-new Touareg SUV on Sept 26 in Zhuhai, Guangdong province. Available in three variants priced from 636,800 yuan to 836,800 yuan, the model sits on Volkswagen's MLB Evo platform, which it shares with the Audi Q7 and the Bentley Bentayga.
One highlight of the third-generation Touareg is what Volkswagen calls the Innovision Cockpit. Features include a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15-inch touch screen that is angled toward the driver and a head-up display that lends the cabin an air of cutting-edge technology.
Compared with its predecessor, the new model is 77 mm longer at 4,878 mm in length, 44 mm wider at 1,984 mm in width and 23 cm lower at 1,686 mm in height.
Despite larger dimensions than the previous generation, it is lighter thanks to a body that is now 48 percent aluminum. The model has two options for the powertrain.
The 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces a maximum output of 185 kilowatts and 370 newton-meters of torque, while the 3.0 liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine produces 250 kW and 450 Nm of torque. Standard on all variants are the eight-speed Tiptronic transmission, Volkswagen's 4motion four-wheel drive system, adaptive air suspension and eight driving modes for different road conditions.
