Shanghai gears up for country's first import expo

SHANGHAI - With the China International Import Expo less than a month away, preparations for the event in Shanghai have entered the final stage and products from all over the world have begun to arrive in the city.
The CIIE, which will run Nov 5 to 10, is expected to give firm support to trade liberalization and economic globalization, and actively open the Chinese market to the world, according to the event's official website.
Some 2,800 companies from G20 member states as well as 50 countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative will take part. More than 30 of the world's 44 least-developed countries will be represented at the expo.
