Beijing denies Trump's meddling claim

China denied on Wednesday United States President Donald Trump's claims that Beijing is meddling in the upcoming midterm elections, saying it does not interfere in other countries' domestic affairs.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang made the remark after Trump tweeted on Tuesday that China was "actively trying to impact and change our election by attacking our farmers, ranchers and industrial workers because of their loyalty to me", in reference to some of the recent Chinese tariffs on US foodstuffs and manufactured goods.

Geng said at a regular news conference that China doesn't want others to interfere in its domestic affairs, and it will not interfere in those of others.
