Radio telescope FAST set to scan the universe

The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope, or FAST, is expected to be put into operation next year, astronomer Li Di from the Chinese Academy of Sciences announced on Saturday. Li said at an astronomical forum held in Xuyi county, Jiangsu province, that FAST is undergoing the last session of tests before it being put into use for Chinese astronomers. It will be used to explore space and help look for extraterrestrial life.
