Improving lives of disabled people will be priority

Vice-Premier Han Zheng urged relevant authorities across the country on Friday to prioritize the welfare of disabled people and make sure they achieve all-around development and lead well-off lives.

He made the remarks while speaking at the opening ceremony of the seventh national congress of the China Disabled Persons' Federation on behalf of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council.

President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, as well as other leaders Li Keqiang, Li Zhanshu, Wang Yang, Wang Huning and Zhao Leji, joined more than 600 delegates across the country at the opening ceremony.
