Editor's note: This year marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up policy.

Beijing landmark, the China World Trade Center, opened on Aug 30, 1990, as seen in the item in China Daily.

The center, a joint venture of the China Foreign Economic and Trade Consultants Corp and the Kerry Industrial Co, covered 420,000 square meters. Last year, the center opened its Phase 3B, adding 230,000 sq meters to the complex.
