Xi calls on forum to promote consensus

Cornerstone of state-to-state relations is peoples' friendship, president writes

President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message on Monday to the Fifth China-Africa People's Forum, saying he hoped it will create even stronger dynamism for people-to-people contacts and China-Africa cooperation.

Friendship between people constitutes the cornerstone of relations between states and is a key area for future development of China-Africa relations, Xi said.
