People: Graduate profits from love of perfect chemistry

Liu Huadong, 27, chose a different path from his classmates after graduating in chemistry from Qingdao Agricultural University in Shandong province in 2014. Instead of taking the civil service exam or becoming a laboratory technician in a chemical plant like many of his peers, he rented a house in a rural area of Qingdao and established his own lab. Over the past four years, he has extracted and collected raw chemical elements to design souvenir gifts, earning an annual income of 200,000 yuan ($30,800).
