New PMI figure will reflect business activity this month

The National Bureau of Statistics will release the purchasing managers' index for June in Beijing on Saturday. The PMI, a gauge of manufacturing activity, rose to 51.9 in May, an eight-month high, according to the bureau. It has remained in expansion territory for nearly two years, despite a more challenging global business climate.
