Mombasa-Nairobi railway hailed as model for China-Kenya cooperation

NAIROBI, Kenya - China's top political adviser Wang Yang hailed on Sunday the cooperation between China and Kenya represented by the Chinese-built Mombasa-Nairobi railway, calling for more cooperation between the two countries.

Wang, who is chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, visited the Nairobi Terminus of the Standard Gauge Railway connecting Kenya's port city Mombasa and capital Nairobi. He took a 30-minute round-trip train ride between Nairobi and the Athi River.

He is on a 10-day African tour, which has taken him to the Republic of Congo and Uganda.
