People: An Indian's journey from kung fu to restaurants

On chinadaily.com.cn

Keen to learn kung fu, Dev Raturi, a 29-year-old Indian, whose Chinese name is De Fu, came to China in 2005. His China tale started when he began working as a waiter in an Indian restaurant to make a living, but his career in the dining industry kept going. Now, he runs four Indian restaurants - in Xi'an, Shaanxi province; Hangzhou, Zhejiang province; Chengdu, Sichuan province; and Beijing. He likes Chinese culture and Chinese cuisine, especially Sichuan cuisine and hotpot. At the same time, he tries to be a bridge between China and India, helping the people of the two countries understand each other better.
