ROK, DPRK open hotline for leaders

Moon and Kim's offices now linked by telephone as relations between the countries to thaw

The Republic of Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on Friday opened a hotline of direct dialogue between the countries' leaders, the ROK's presidential office the Blue House said.

For now, just a test call for minutes by working-level officials has been made, and it has yet to be decided when ROK President Moon Jae-in and the DPRK's top leader Kim Jongun will conduct their first conversation through the line, which directly links the Blue House to the State Affairs Commission, Kim's office.
