Swords bring reward to farmer
A farmer who found and handed over five 2,000-year-old bronze swords was paid a reward of 15,000 yuan ($2,400) by the city government of Lianyuan on Tuesday. Li Xinding, 56, discovered the swords in August last year when he was herding sheep along a river bank after a flood. He brought them home and reported the find to the police. Experts spent months examining the swords before dating them to the Warring States Period (475-221 BC).
