The Center for Environmental Education and Communications and Kao Holding Co Ltd, a Japanese chemical and cosmetics company, kicked off a joint campaign to promote water conservation in Beijing, to mark the 26th World Water Day on March 22.

This year, Kao will focus on water conservation on campus, calling students from more than 60 universities nationwide, including Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai, to promote the idea of water conservation on the premises of their respective institution.

Besides educational institutions, households will be targeted. Kao will sponsor the water conservation promotional activities to show how even average households can save as much as 30 liters of water daily, or 10,000 liters a year.
