FIFA says 'edge of a cliff ' violence putting Greek games in peril

ATHENS - World soccer body FIFA on Wednesday said Greece's violence-plagued championship is on the "edge of a cliff" and Greek clubs could face exclusion from international competition unless authorities take rapid action.

"This behavior has pushed us to come here to make recommendations," said Herbert Hubel, head of the FIFA committee set up last July to monitor the Greek soccer federation.

"The Grexit that looked distant is no longer impossible. Greek soccer has reached the edge of the cliff."
