Xinhua launches Japanese platform

China's Xinhua News Agency was scheduled to open a platform for news stories, video reports and photographs in Japan on Thursday.

Cai Mingzhao, Xinhua's president, said at a launch ceremony in Tokyo on Wednesday that the platform will provide news about China to its Japanese customers.

Xinhua already has Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese news services.
