Clubs get extra time to explain brawl

The Football Association on Wednesday gave Manchester United and Manchester City extra time to explain the brawl which followed Sunday's derby at Old Trafford.

Runaway Premier League leader City opened an 11-point gap over second-place United with a 2-1 win on the weekend.

Victory sparked mass celebrations from City. United is understood to have taken exception to how its visitors conducted themselves afterward in and around the dressing room.
