Water drum dancing is a unique art performed by the Miao ethnic group during traditional ceremonies. Performers dress in ethnic costumes, and dance to the beat around a giant wooden drum. The dance, whose origins stretch back more than 500 years, has won several international awards. It is also honored as an intangible cultural heritage of Guizhou province.
