UN highlights malnutrition, education as growing problems in Afghanistan

KABUL - Concerns are growing for children in Afghanistan, with poor access to schools and worsening malnutrition becoming increasingly worrying for health agencies.

The United Nations Children's Fund representative in Afghanistan, Adele Khodr, said there are 3.5 million children who are out of school, with 75 percent of them girls.
