Blueprint for the future

China is looking to emulate America's success in developing elite athletes through the college ranks.

On the eve of Saturday's 2017 Pac-12 China Game between the UCLA Bruins and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Shanghai, Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott outlined the US strategy at the third annual China-US University Sports & Education Summit at Jiao Tong University.

Scott said only about two percent of student athletes graduate to the professional ranks in general, so it's important to prepare them for their future careers.
