27 people killed in bus crash

At least 27 people were killed and more than 50 injured when a passenger bus plunged into a ravine in northern Pakistan, police said on Thursday. The crash took place near Dhok Pathan village, about 110 kilometers from Islamabad on Wednesday. The bus was carrying people from the northwestern town of Kohat to the eastern city of Raiwind.

Army liberates last IS stronghold

The Army and allied fighters on Wednesday liberated the city of al-Bukamal, the last Islamic State stronghold in eastern Syria, pro-government al-Ekhbaria TV reported. The bomb squads are mopping up the city after defeating the extremists. The victory came hours after the Army started storming the city near the Iraqi border.

Turkey

100 militants detained in Ankara

Police detained 101 suspected Islamic State group militants in capital Ankara on Thursday. According to the local Daily Sabah newspaper, the counter terror operation was carried out by Ankara Public Prosecutor's office with 1,500 policemen after detention warrants were issued for 245 suspects. Police reportedly carried out raids at 240 addresses in Ankara and digital and other materials belonging to the IS group was seized.
