Rising from manual laborer to National People's Congress deputy and the deputy head of a small town in Kashgar in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Riyangul Amire devotes herself to building her community. She has organized more than 1,800 local people to work in Zhejiang province, and even convinced her former boss to build a plant in Xinjiang's Akto county. Although she is pregnant now, Riyangul says she will continue working until five days before her baby is due.
