Earth moved at 19th CPC National Congress

Life in Beijing might be carrying on much as before - despite the weather being noticeably chillier - after the conclusion of the CPC 19th National Congress.

The framing of the debate about China and its government system, however, has certainly moved on.

As one of who observed President Xi Jinping delivering his report from high in the Great Hall of the People, I had a definite sense of history in the making. China is moving into a new era in which it is much more confident about its position and status in the world.
