Finance forum to promote Public-Private Partnerships
The third China Public-Private Partnerships Financing Forum will be held in Shanghai on Wednesday and Thursday. PPPs, collaborative investments between government and private companies, have existed in China since the 1980s, but the adoption of the financing model had been slow until the country released two PPP guidelines in 2014. Now it is a popular way to fund infrastructure projects amid concerns over high local government debts.
