Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia is expected to miss more than a month of the 2018 season after left knee surgery.
The 10-year veteran had surgery to restore the cartilage in the knee. On Wednesday, the team said he will return to competition in seven months, which would put him back in the lineup in late May.
"It is anticipated that Dustin will return to games in approximately seven months," the Red Sox said in a statement.
