'State of war' against al-Shabab

President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed will announce a "state of war" against the al-Shabab extremists who were blamed for the country's deadliest attack, the prime minister said on Friday. Thousands of anguished Somalis gathered in Mogadishu to pray at the site of the attack, while the toll rose to 358 and dozens remained missing. The United States is expected to play a supporting role in the new offensive, a military official said.
