Plenary session opens for country's top watchdog

The eighth plenary session of the 18th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China will open in Beijing on Monday. Since the implementation of the Party's eight-point frugality code in 2012, some 176,000 violations have been investigated, nearly 240,000 CPC officials punished and around 128,000 others subjected to disciplinary action, according to the commission.
