Sinopec's Wang Yupu moves to SAWS

Wang Yupu, 61, chairman of China's oil giant Sinopec Group, was appointed Party chief of the State Administration of Work Safety in September. Wang has more than 30 years of experience in the petroleum industry. In 2003, he became general manager and chairman of Daqing Oilfield, a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corp. He entered public life in 2009 as vice-governor of northeastern Heilongjiang province and then was promoted to deputy Party chief of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2013. He joined Sinopec in 2015.
