Attack deadliest mass shooting in modern US history; IS claims responsibility

LAS VEGAS - A gunman killed at least 50 people and wounded over 400 at a country music festival on the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday, raining down rapid fire from the 32nd floor of a hotel for several minutes. Police said the gunman killed himself before they entered his hotel room.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the shooter had converted to Islam months ago, Reuters reported. The group provided no evidence.
