Heavy rain brings floods to city

Heavy rainstorms battered Shanghai on Monday morning, causing flooding in many areas of the city. Accumulated rainwater exceeded 25 centimeters on some roads, and about 200 shops along Xinyuan Road were flooded, according to the municipal flood control headquarters. The most serious flooding occurred at a pedestrian crossing on Luoshan Road, where water was more than 1.2 meters deep, the headquarters said.
