Flights grounded amid typhoon

A powerful typhoon ripped into southern Japan on Sunday, dumping torrential rain, grounding at least 644 domestic flights and halting train services. Typhoon Talim made a landfall in Kyushu, the southernmost of Japan's four main islands, packing winds of up to 162 kph, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday that he will explain some points about US "misconduct" pertaining to Iran's 2015 nuclear deal in his UN speech, official IRNA news agency reported. Cabinet backs move on age limit

Uganda's Cabinet has approved a resolution by ruling party legislators for a constitutional amendment to remove the 75-year-old age limit for presidents. The Cabinet allowed the ruling National Resistance Movement party to table a private members bill in Parliament next week, said Frank Tumwebaze, Uganda's minister of information communication technology and national guidance.
