Adviser: Religion needs rule of law
Top political adviser Yu Zhengsheng said on Monday that the rule of law should be upheld in dealing with religious work. Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, made the remark at a session on implementing religious decisions and policies. He stressed the importance of standardizing government management of religious affairs as well as the activities of religious groups under the law. Yu emphasized the need to curb religious extremism.
