Chengdu to host world tourism assembly

The 22nd session of the UN World Tourism Organization general assembly is scheduled to be held in Chengdu, Sichuan province, from Monday to Sept 16. It will be the second time that the UNWTO general assembly will take place in China, after the first in Beijing in 2003. The Chinese National Tourism Administration and UNWTO will co-host a roundtable focusing on the country's Belt and Road Initiative, and seek to establish greater cooperation in tourism among the countries and regions involved in the initiative. The theme of the assembly is "Tourism and Sustainable Development Goals - Journey to 2030".
