Video: Fleshing out in autumn - Know China Learn Chinese
For our expat colleague Erik Nilsson, this month means that summer has gone, and autumn has arrived. But what he doesn't know is that it has already been fall for a few weeks, according to the Chinese lunar calendar. Last month marked liqiu, one of 24 solar terms, which marks the start of autumn. During this period, it is traditional for people to feast, especially on meat. "Fleshing out in autumn" is called tieqiubiao. Qiu means autumn, and tiebiao literally means to add fat to your body.
