Anniversary

Shangri-La Hotel Beijing celebrated its 30th anniversary on Aug 18 with a party and a catwalk show staged by hotel staff with 30 years of experience. It has also launched a specially designed eight-course menu, comprising the hotel's most popular dishes over the past three decades at its Shang Palace Chinese restaurant. In addition, the hotel is offering a daily 300 yuan ($45) discount on dining and room services per room for weekend stays. The St. Regis Tianjin offered royal etiquette lessons at its presidential suite in mid-August. Guillaume Rue de Bernadac, president of the Academie de Bernadac, gave a lecture on upper-class social etiquette and table manners to a group of luminaries of various sectors and their children. After its Shanghai, Xiamen and Huizhou legs, the Ai Mei Midsummer exhibition tour of doll scriptures is being held at Le Meridien Cyberport hotel in Hong Kong this week, showcasing 11 dolls representing 11 destination inspirations. Among the dolls, Hong Kong is represented by its filmmaking industry, with a pink polkadot hair band.
