Du Shuang, JD's VP, leaves for personal reasons
Du Shuang, vice-president of new channels, JD Group, will leave the company this month-end. He cited personal reasons for his decision. JD's new channels department was set up in 2015. The main purpose was to explore the retailer channel for promoting the company's intelligent management systems. It wants to target 1 million domestic stores by 2022, half of which would be in rural areas, said Liu Qiangdong, chairman of JD, in April. There was talk that Du's resignation may be due to immense work pressure. But JD said the new channels team has done well so far in reaching 300,000 stores, far beyond expectations.
