After finishing as the top Chinese player at the World Ladies Championship, Li Jiayun feels she has something to prove at the Zhuhai Hengqin Phoenix Tree Building Challenge, which teed off on Thursday in Zhuhai.
After posting a 1-under 218 to tie for 27th against a world-class field at the WLC in Haikou last week, the Guangdong native said she had to be better in the first full-field event of the 2017 China LPGA Tour season.
"I was under par on Sunday (71) and finally had a nice finish in such a world-class event, but it's hard to say I was proud of my result in Haikou," Li, winner of last year's Beijing Ladies Classic, said after Wednesday's practice round at Orient Zhuhai. "Looking back, I think I could be much better.
