Walking contest set for Oct 29
Beijing is holding a long-distance walking contest on Oct 29. Participants will compete along a 17-kilometer route around the Ming Tombs Reservoir, near the collection of mausoleums built by the emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Registration is open until 6 pm on Wednesday. The fee is 50 yuan ($7.5). The money generated from the event will be donated to charity.
