Harbin Beer in clear air push using billboards

By Zhong Nan | China Daily | Updated: 2016-07-21 08:24

Harbin Beer launched the second year of the "Blue Sky Plan 2.0'" environmental campaign by partnering with Zhejiang Zhefeng Sciences and Technology Co, a green technology supplier. They plan to install more of the latter's billboards with advanced air purification functions in Harbin to cut pollution caused by heavy traffic and manufacturing activities. Though they look like ordinary billboards, they will be able to purify up to 99.7 percent of the haze in certain areas.

This type of product has already been applied in military buildings and ships to cut the negative environmental impact.

Li Zhelin, director of the branding department at Harbin Beer, said conducting environmental protection activities and raising public awareness are not an overnight thing. The "Blue Sky Plan 2.0" hopes to combine practical technologies and innovative ideas to make new attempts to improve air quality.
