The Shangri-La Hotel, Tangshan, which opeened on Aug 28, offers the largest banqueting and conference venue in the city. The Shangri-La Ballroom, with an area of 1,800 square meters, features exquisite interiors, high ceilings, luxury crystal lights, the latest audio-visual equipment and a top banquet service team. There are also eight other well-appointed function rooms that can cater to a variety of occasions.The hotel is offering 10,000 yuan ($1,574) cash value to be offset against function room rental to companies panning meetings that book at least 50 guest rooms. Customized meeting packages start from 488 yuan net per person, including a buffet lunch, two coffee breaks, function room rental, AV equipment and writing materials. The price includes a 15 percent service charge.

With less than 365 days to go before the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, Hilton Worldwide hosted two Olympic-themed events at Hilton Beijing Wangfujing and DoubleTree by Hilton Guangzhou on Aug 29 in support of the China Olympic Team's "Journey to Rio." The events kick-started a year-long series of activities organized by the hotel group, which is the official partner of the Chinese Olympic Committee.
