Enterprising Tonghua sees leap in revenue

Last year the private sector in the city of Tonghua, Jilin province generated revenue of 223.9 billion yuan ($35.9 billion), a 20 percent increase from 2012.

The sector paid 7.7 billion yuan in taxes, up 16 percent from a year earlier.

The solid growth is the result of local government efforts to create a favorable business environment for private enterprises, said officials.
