Ge Jianxiong, a professor at Fudan University and a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, said he felt the atmosphere of this year's annual legislative and political advisory sessions seemed different.

"I encourage those young people who have the ambition to show their talent on a higher platform to stay in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou."
