Different forest certifications

The two most recognized international forest certification programs are from the Forest Stewardship Council and the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification.

The Chinese government has also been working toward building an internationally recognized certification system run by the China Forest Certification Council, taking into consideration the unique aspects of China's forestry industry.

In August 2011, the council made a significant step in getting international recognition when its application to become a member of the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, the world's largest forest certification organization, was accepted.
