Regulation limits how government uses funds

China Daily | Updated: 2013-11-26 07:21

In the latest move to quash official extravagance in China, central authorities issued a written regulation on Monday to standardize how government funds are managed.

The regulation laid out guidelines for how government agencies should manage their funds for various uses, including travel, receptions, meetings, official vehicles and buildings.

The rule is aimed at helping Party and government organs practice frugality and reject extravagance. According to a statement issued by the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council, China's Cabinet, the regulation is in the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee.
