First phase of Rizhao's International Ocean City

Construction on the first phase of Rizhao's International Ocean City is in full swing and is expected to be completed in December, according to the vice-chairman of its management committee Yang Fuhong.

Designed to cover 170 square kilometers, the ocean city is projected to generate 30 billion yuan in goods and services by 2020, 80 percent of it from marine related sectors and 50 percent from high-tech.

Public facilities in the 6.6 sq km first phase include those for culture, sports, health and residences.
