The 'inexhaustible force' of innovation

Innovation is the inexhaustible force needed by both developed and developing countries, said Gordon W. Day, president of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, on Thursday at the opening ceremony for the Zhongguancun Forum 2012.

But "universities, governments, companies and even research institutions do not innovate," he said, stressing that " people innovate".

"So governments should focus on fostering a talented and well-educated workforce and make efforts to pursue a healthy, comprehensive educational system."
