China scores low on global charity table
The Chinese mainland was ranked 140 in a 153-economy survey on philanthropy development, the nation's online news portal NetEase reported.
The survey, conducted by the UK-based Charities Aid Foundation, showed that the Chinese mainland's charity index, a gauge measuring a region's charity development, is far behind Hong Kong and Taiwan.
