SOEs donate $598 million to charity

China's central State-owned enterprises jointly donated 3.77 billion yuan ($598 million) for charitable works in 2011, the State assets watchdog said.

The donations came from 108 of the 117 central SOEs which are overseen by the State Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, according to a statement posted on the commission's website.
