Ex-Colombian president sees Tibet through new set of eyes

SHANGHAI - When former president of Colombia Andres Pastrana visited a primary school in Tibet last Tuesday, one thing he and his wife noticed were a roomful of little Tibetans learning English.

"We were very surprised that such small children there are learning English," said Pastrana, who spoke exclusively to China Daily after the couple wrapped up a private one-week trip to Tibet. "I hope more professional English teachers can go there and teach local kids."
